Current Project Spotlight
Strengthening National Monitoring of Essential Health Services with CHAI and the Ministry of Health.
I am currently supporting the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) and the Ministry of Health to strengthen national monitoring of essential health services. Over November and December, my work has focused on finalizing, testing, and validating the national KoBoToolbox–based Continuity of Services Assessment Tool, including full automation of logic, calculations, and HR modules across HIV, TB, Malaria, PMTCT, MCH, ADH, HTS, PrEP, PEP, VMMC, and health data systems.
Field Deployment
With the digital tool now fully functional, the next phase involves field deployment, where I will be leading and supporting data collection across multiple provinces. This includes:
- Training district and facility teams on the finalized tool
- Supervising real-time data collection and quality assurance
- Troubleshooting field-level issues and ensuring smooth digital reporting
- Coordinating with provincial health offices and implementing partners
- Monitoring completeness and accuracy of submitted assessments
What Follows Next
After field data collection is completed, the next steps will include:
- Comprehensive data cleaning and validation
- Analysis of service disruptions, HR gaps, and readiness indicators
- Generation of visual dashboards and provincial comparison summaries
- Development of a national consolidated report with evidence-based recommendations
- Presentation of findings to Ministry of Health leadership and key partners
- Supporting the integration of insights into planning and program improvement
This work is strengthening Zambia’s ability to track continuity and quality of essential services and to respond quickly to emerging gaps in HIV, TB, Malaria, MCH, and related programs.
